2025

  • Launched deptford.org as a digital history platform blending archival research with interactive maps.
  • Developed Brookmill Park Birds as a mobile-first 2048-style game that teaches local ecology through simple and engaging species progression.
  • Co-created Méridien, a cultural heritage media project that tells stories through immersive formats.
  • Launched London Current, a blog exploring London’s history and overlooked places.
  • My feature on urban shade has won silver at the Information is Beautiful Awards (another two were longlisted).
  • Co-produced an online course on AI for sustainability on Udemy.
  • Produced a special edition of the Union Atlas for FGIC and a feature on urban lighting for Balady (both online and print).
  • Launched Compass, a publication about cities and technology.

2024:

  • Co-founded Urbi Atlas, a media platform on sustainable cities, shaping its editorial vision and overseeing research, writing, and editing.
  • Started writing theatre reviews for my blog, Metkere.
  • Joined the Nauka.ua team in a pro bono advisory role, helping to enhance its science reporting.

2023:

  • Advised ITMO University on launching the AI Communications Specialisation for its master’s program.
  • Relaunched the English version of the award-winning Metkere blog. The new blog now primarily focuses on culture and history.
  • Revamped the Lifelong MOOCs Telegram channel, quickly attracting almost 5,000 followers.
  • Curated AI imagery for the Silver Archer Award press release.

2022:

  • Developed and taught a course on science content production at ITMO University.
  • Joined a brand new YouTube channel on all things science. I handle scriptwriting and presenting, while our fantastic team makes me look good on-screen. It now has more than 480,000 subscribers.
  • Introduced Hypertextual, a newsletter focusing on science and technology.
  • Advised Visual Science on website copy and messaging.
  • Spearheaded communications for Yandex Research ML Residency, securing 26 media features and a 150,000-strong reach, resulting in 127 applications.
  • Co-produced the Segalovich Award for young scientists and a podcast on machine learning challenges with a 500,000-strong reach.

2021:

  • Produced content about the past and future of encryption for the Museum of Cryptography.
  • Launched the Yandex Research blog on machine learning.
  • Conducted a series of lectures on recent scientific discoveries for Far-Eastern University, ITMO University and LevelOne.

2020:

  • Moderated the Different Ever After festival for the British Embassy in Moscow.
  • Covered drug discovery, digital medicine, and good manufacturing practices for Novartis.
  • Produced interviews with scientists for the YouTube channel of the Traektoria Foundation.
  • Hosted science outreach events for HSE University and Rosatom.
  • Fact-checked films about the Apollo program and the COVID-19 pandemic for the Discovery Channel.
  • Launched a COVID-19 news and insights newsletter at Tayga.info.

2019:

  • Created a series of online courses on social media marketing and event management for Amway.
  • Authored articles on scientific breakthroughs for Novartis corporate media, highlighting key advancements and their implications.
  • Developed a communications strategy for Genocarta, ensuring clear and compelling messaging. Composed the official press release for their launch, which major media outlets featured.

2018:

  • Launched a science desk at Tayga.info. Some of my articles received more than 100,000 views and hundreds of citations.
  • Produced four subway cars worth of content for the Moscow Metro Science Train as part of the UK-Russia Year of Science and Education. Three million passengers travelled on it in 10 months.

2017:

  • Delivered lectures on scientific discoveries to employees at Auchan and Siemens, enhancing their understanding of the latest research and innovations.

2016:

  • Launched a popular science magazine for Rosatom, reaching a monthly audience of 500,000.
  • Produced several features on coal chemistry for En+ Group.
  • Edited a comprehensive science communications handbook.
  • Under my leadership, Yandex’s social media accounts grew by 10% in six months.
  • Researched and developed an engaging card game centred around the energy transition for Rosatom.

2015:

  • Organised engineering tracks at science festivals in Norilsk and Monchegorsk.
  • Launched the Yandex National Math Test with 100,000 participants.
  • My most popular post on the Metkere blog got 40,000+ likes on Facebook and 7,000+ tweets, including one from Charles Darwin’s great-great-granddaughter.

2014:

  • Managed Yandex’s presence at the Polytech Science Festival, featuring a booth that showcased computer vision technology. The interactive display utilised real-time AI to match audience members with scientists who most resembled them.
  • Partnered with Caterpillar on a promotional campaign for their construction equipment.

2012:

  • Started writing historical film and TV reviews for Diletant, a magazine from the team behind the legendary Echo of Moscow radio.
  • Organised a tour of the InVitro medical lab, showcasing diagnostic processes and lab technology, a blogger tour of the Novosibirsk Planetarium, and an event for Tricolor TV, explaining how satellite broadcasting works through expert talks.
  • Organised the first Epic Fail Conference in Moscow with a keynote speech from Anton Nossik.
  • Supported rebranding of e2e4 tech stores with a blogger event featuring guests from two Siberian cities.

2011:

  • Moderated a discussion with director Iben Haahr Andersen at the Bok-o-Bok LGBT film festival.
  • Organised blogger tours of the Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Station, Novosibirsk Opera Theatre and the Novosibirsk technopark construction site.
  • Launched an online media platform for CFT on the culture and impact of queues, promoting digital payments. Led awareness projects, including an animated series and an essay contest.
  • Spoke at TEDxYouth@Tomsk.

2010:

  • My blog, Metkere, received the prestigious DW’s The Best of Blogs award as the Best Russian Blog.
  • Helped organise a meeting between local activists, Silicon Valley CEOs, U.S. diplomats, and Ashton Kutcher as part of the U.S.–Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission.
  • Ran the press launch and Hubble 3D screening for the first IMAX opening in Siberia.
  • Launched the Student PR Club, an educational project for future communication professionals.
  • Launched a promo campaign for Il Gusto, a local Italian café.
  • Organised blogger tours for the Baltica brewery and the Novosibirsk technopark.
  • Joined a Goethe-Institut panel on the future of literature with German writers.
  • Organised a press conference with TV puppets Khryusha and Stepashka at a children’s hospital.
  • Launched the Russian Colonist online media to explore Siberia’s colonial past and postcolonial future.
  • Served as an expert and helped organise Novosibirsk’s first major science festival.

2009:

  • Organised the “Freedom for Mendelssohn!” campaign, defending the tradition of playing Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” at ceremonies in Novosibirsk.
  • Launched Novoblogica, a series of conferences on media, science, and culture, which ran for six years.
  • Organised one of the first Yuri’s Nights in Russia.
  • Developed and managed the American Bar Association’s online presence in Russia, creating and overseeing its website and content strategy.

2008:

  • Organised a press conference with Euroset founder Eugene Chichvarkin for the Vertu store opening.
  • Launched Metkere, a blog that would become one of my most successful projects, winning several awards and reaching a worldwide audience.
  • Founded Novoday, a February 29th holiday inspiring people to tackle postponed goals, which garnered international participation and media coverage.

2007:

  • Organised the first press conference of the Yandex top managers, including Arkady Volozh, in Siberia.
  • Organised the first-ever press tour of the Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Station and seminars on hydro energy for local communities in the Pacific Region.
  • Hosted a training seminar for Russian journalists covering the energy sector.

2006:

  • Delivered lectures on media freedom, social media, and communications for NGOs in the Novosibirsk and Altay regions on behalf of the International Republican Institute.
  • Joined Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s press centre as head of its Novosibirsk youth organisation, overseeing rallies and educational initiatives.

2005:

  • Advised on the PR campaign for the first Nokia store launch in Siberia.
  • Established Imagine PR, landing clients like Yandex, Sakhalin Energy, and a growing $50-million retail business.
  • Launched Just Business, a blog on economy, technology, and energy, broke major industry stories, and sold it to an investor a year later for a whopping $1,000.

2004:

  • Launched The Governor’s School, a year-long mentorship programme with 400 applicants and 30 alums. Almost all of them, 28 to be exact, became leaders in their fields.

2001:

  • Founded WeekNSK, one of the region’s first online film review magazines. Secured partnerships with national media, local cinemas, and internet providers.
